From the northwest coast of Madagascar, Ocean Jasper is a silicified flow formed on a small island off the coast. It can only be mined at low tide, otherwise, the deposit is submerged. It has become very rare in large pieces as the original mine is mined out. Smaller pieces are still found in the surrounding areas but these large coins were a rare find.
Ocean jasper is believed to aid in responsibility and patience. It is believed to create a grounding, soothing and nurturing effect. Those who wear it tend to experience change happening in a gentle and gradual way bringing a feeling of calmness.
