I'm back with the next video in our new jewelry care series on the blog... In this video, I share quick and easy ways to store your jewelry to keep it clean and tangle free. What you'll need for this project:
It's oxygen and moisture that speed up the tarnishing process. Metals can easily scratch one another or harm your softer stones if you just throw them in a jewelry box together. Not to mention the time we waste untangling the mess of chains in those boxes. This video goes through a simple and easy way to protect all your favorite jewelry pieces and sets you up for traveling safely with your treasures.

Here's a peek at how I store my jewelry to keep it clean & make it easier to pack. Cut two slits in an index card. Hang your chains or earrings on the slits and seal in a ziplock bag. File in a pretty box! The ziplock keeps oxygen from tarnishing your jewelry pieces and the card keeps the chains untangled and ready for travel! Just a few tips to keep your jewelry from tarnishing and tangling so you can enjoy it when you want to wear it!!    I discovered this by accident! Every month I polish all my jewelry on display but the pieces I keep stored never need cleaning. The difference? The stored pieces are in individual ziplock bags and organized inside a tupperware shoe box. Oxygen is what makes your sterling and copper tarnish. Keep your pieces separate from each other in small ziploack bags when you aren't wearing them and store them in an air tight container. You'll be able to go a very long time without cleaning!  |
