Celebrating Moms and Mother's Day - part 4

The celebration continues this week for Mother's Day with artist and mother, Nanci Charpentier of Nanci Charpentier Art and daughter, Claire. I chatted with Claire on her first day home from the University of Alabama for summer break. What a nice gift for Nanci to have her home in time for Mother's Day. (They are proof that a Mother's love can overcome even the biggest of football rivalries!) Here's what Claire had to say about her awesome LSU Tiger Mom:

Is there anything you'd like to thank her for this Mother's Day?

Thanks Mom, for being so supportive my entire life. Anytime I call her, she is there to give me advice, calm me down when I'm stressed, or just listen to me talk about my day. She has always taught me that I am capable of anything I set my mind to and has supported me as I work towards my goals.

What's the best thing about your Mom?

How passionate she is about everything she does. Whether it is with her art, or taking care of my dad, my brother and me, she always puts her whole heart into it. And I think that is the one thing that makes her such an amazing mom and artist.

Is there a piece of jewelry you own that has meaning for you or reminds you of something special?

It would probably be the first pair of earrings I owned because they remind me of my Mom coming with me to get my ears pierced. I was always scared of getting my ears pierced as a kid, so last year, I finally found the courage to get them done. My Mom came with me and sat next to me while I was freaking out. I think she still has some funny pictures of my face when the lady was piercing them too.
