How to Pick the Perfect Jewelry Present!

In my humble opinion, jewelry always makes for a fantastic gift. It's the perfect way to remind someone you love them again and again, every time they wear your gift.

However, it's not always easy to pick a piece you know they'll love and WEAR!

What is Their Skin Tone?

Jewelry is an accessory that's worn directly on the skin, and often it's the first thing people notice about your outfit. So it's important to consider how the colors compliment your loved one's skin tone. Is your loved one's skin tone cool or warm?

Cool skin tones:

are identifiable by bluish colored veins and have pinkish undertones. Most people have cool skin, including people with dark skin and tan skin. 

This tone looks best wearing pieces crafted of silver, platinum or white gold. Regarding gems consider Amethyst, Aquamarine, Jade, Emerald, African Green Opal, Amazonite, Turquoise and Charoite.

Warm skin tones:

are identifiable by greenish colored veins and yellow or golden undertones. People with darker skin are not usually warm-skinned. 

Designs crafted in copper, classic yellow gold or rich rose gold look fantastic on those with warm skin tones. Warm hued gemstones such as Grey Sheepskin Jasper, Coral, Carnelian, Dragon Blood Jasper, Rosetta Stone Jasper and Turritella Fossil Agate and Ammonite Fossil.

What color clothing do they wear?

Let's say your loved one wears TEAL almost every day.

You can choose Lapis or Amazonite or other blue/teal colored jewelry for a more subtle look that matched with their favorite color. OR pick a complimentary gem like coral or rhodochrosite to make a bold statement that will POP!

If you want the jewelry to stand out then pick a color OPPOSITE what they normally wear on the color wheel. 

This keeps the style fresher and allows the jewelry to take center stage! Using this technique, you avoid picking something that will clash with most of their wardrobe or feel out of place with their style.
